SPINROOM started as a spreadsheet. Four of us kept buying paddles on the strength of a review, playing them for a week, and finding the numbers didn't match the copy. So we bought a rig.
The
spreadsheet
It had eleven columns and forty rows, and it settled more arguments than any review we had read. The first thing it told us was that most of the wall was the same paddle: the same Toray weave, the same polypropylene core, the same thermoforming process out of the same handful of factories.
The second thing it told us was where the real differences hide — swing weight, twist weight, balance point, grip length. Numbers nobody was printing on a product page because they don't sound like marketing.
So we printed them. All of them, for every paddle, next to a table that puts four side by side and marks the rows where they actually disagree. That table is the shop. Everything else is packaging.
How we operate

Measure, then stock
Nothing goes on the wall until it has been through the same rig: spin RPM, swing weight, twist weight, balance point. If a manufacturer's published figure and ours disagree by more than a rounding error, we publish both.

One vocabulary
Every brand invents its own words for the same construction. We translate them back into the four numbers that decide how a paddle plays, so a JOOLA and a CRBN can sit in the same table honestly.

No house brand
We don't make paddles. There is no model we need you to buy, which is the only reason a recommendation from us is worth anything.

Grit is finite
Raw carbon wears. We say so, we tell you roughly when, and we won't sell a resurfacing spray that pretends otherwise.
What's next
Bring us a paddle we can't measure
We add brands slowly and drop them without ceremony. If you play something we don't stock and think we're missing it, tell us — we'll put it on the rig.
